Crafting Beauty for Ben Pentreath Ltd

Our journey began when Leo Kary, the senior interior designer at Ben Pentreath, entrusted us with a vision. He envisioned a nightstand that would seamlessly blend the traditional with the contemporary, mirroring Vienna’s eclectic charm. The specifications were clear: a traditional, cylindrical design with three drawers, constructed from European Walnut and crowned with an exquisite Arabascato stone top.

The Art of Detailing

Every aspect of this nightstand was meticulously considered. The drawer fronts featured veneer cut on a diagonal, creating a visually striking design that pays homage to Vienna’s artistic heritage. A Walnut feather inlay and Walnut cross banding added a touch of timeless elegance. To ensure both sturdiness and longevity, we chose to craft the drawer boxes from solid Oak.

Crafting the Cylinder

The cylindrical body of the nightstand posed a unique challenge. We created a bespoke curved platen to mould a flexible ply around, resulting in a perfect cylindrical shape. The European walnut veneer was then meticulously applied to achieve a flawless finish. It was stained, polished, and adorned with stunning solid brass pear drop handles that perfectly complemented the piece’s style.
